Why Should You Be Unbanned: On that day, I was actively on duty as an LAPD officer. While CHP Troopers were conducting a traffic stop on a civilian, another suspect approached the scene and began verbally arguing with the Troopers. According to the footage, the suspect then pulled a weapon and initiated gunfire against the Troopers. Upon hearing the gunshots, I responded to the scene immediately with my emergency lights and sirens activated. When I arrived, I saw that one of the Troopers had already been injured. Right behind him, there was a civilian holding a handgun and reloading it. In that intense moment, I interpreted the situation as the armed civilian being the shooter who had just engaged the officers. Believing that he was actively threatening the injured Trooper, I decided to use lethal force in defense of my fellow law enforcement. Unfortunately, the civilian I shot was killed. However, I want to make it absolutely clear that I had no intention of randomly killing anyone. Based on what I saw an armed individual next to an injured officer, reloading his weapon during an active scene I genuinely believed the suspect was still a threat and acted accordingly. There was no malicious intent or rule-breaking on my part. Therefore, I strongly believe I should not be penalized for this incident, especially not with a permanent ban In addition, what appeared On my screen, the person I shot appeared to be aiming a little further to the right, at the officer. When he cocked his gun, it appeared he was aiming at the trooper.
