If you have been around Mountain Interactive for a while, you have probably noticed that becoming a moderator is no longer as easy as it used to be. A few months ago, getting involved in the team was pretty simple. Now, the expectations are much higher. And that is a good thing.
Moderators have real power. They can shape a player’s experience in a way that makes this community better, or they can ruin it if that power is used the wrong way. We want people on this team who understand that responsibility. We are not looking for people who are just chasing a title. We are looking for people who genuinely care about the community, who show fairness, professionalism, and a drive to help others.
That is why the application process is stricter now. We are not just looking for someone who can write a good application. We are looking for people who have proven through their actions that they are ready for this role.
You might be wondering, "Okay, so what do I actually need to do?"
Here is the answer: Be active. Help people. Be someone others notice for the right reasons. Make a positive impact. Be the person who makes someone’s day better.
Some of you might be thinking, "But I do not have time to sit in general chat on Discord all day, or post on the forums. I just want the moderator rank so I can jump in-game and start moderating now."

We do not hire based only on your application. We look at everything. Your modlogs. Your community activity. Your website contributions. Your time spent in-game. We compare you to other candidates. And trust me, there is always someone out there who is working harder and putting in more effort to earn it.
