Have You Moderated Other Communities?

Yes, I was previously a mod for MI before resigning due to scheduling conflicts with my employment. That’s no longer a problem since I now work a consistent Monday–Thursday, 7 a.m.–4:30 p.m. schedule, which gives me open evenings and full weekends for MI.

I also moderated an Arma Reforger Server for a month or so, Field of Regard, but I don't think there's much experience I can tie to my application.

Which Mountain Interactive Servers Do You Play Most?

Perris is my favorite when I want to have fun, but that also makes it more vulnerable to abuse, FRP, and other rulebreaking. If I'm looking for a more realistic roleplay, I will play LA. I love the roleplay styles and the overall professionalism of the community in both games, though they're a bit different and require different methods.

Why Do You Want to Become a Moderator?

I’ve done the job before and know how to do it better now. I wasn't perfect, nobody was, but I am sure that I can give it my all now. When I resigned, it was purely a time issue. But I didn't stop playing or leave the community. Today, I've seen various gaps in moderation in Perris servers. I’ve watched a solid roleplay derailed by a few FRPing guys with no care. That's not a complaint, it's really why I’m applying for staff again.

Beyond my experience with MI, I work as a completions stress engineer at a corporate aircraft company. It demands critical thinking, accountability, and attention to detail at all times. I want to bring that mindset with me as I reapply for staff. I've demonstrated that I know how to stay calm under pressure, enforce the rules, and fairly and reasonably resolve conflicts between players.

These are real people, not just usernames and avatars. I’ve had to mediate heated situations on and off the job, and I bring that emotional discipline into every room. I want to help keep MI a place where users can have fun without worrying about someone derailing it. I know how to do it and am ready to prove it again.

Are You Familiar with Any Current Staff Members?

I'm familiar and have worked with various current and former staff members.

Including but not limited to: noobyieeeee, tyler, starhunter_21, sp_yridon, and various others.

They were all professional and I enjoyed working with them.

When Are You Usually Available to Moderate?

Monday–Thursday after ~6:00 p.m. EST

Friday–Sunday: I am always available, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and late nights (up to about 3 am if needed).

I work full-time, but I can moderate as much as needed during my off hours.

How Would You Handle Rule Breaking?

The most important way to address and subsequently handle rule-breaking is to understand it from both parties' perspectives (if applicable). Let's say someone on Perris randomly shot someone else. At first glance, this individual just committed RDM. However, what if he was unaware of Perris's rules and, therefore, didn't understand them? Let's call this guy Davidisawesome.

Davidisawesome claiming ignorance doesn't automatically excuse his behavior, but the context of the situation matters. Before any kind of judgment on the situation, I would gather logs, clips, damage/kill logs, and speak with both individuals involved in a sit room. If it turns out it is truly accidental or a first-time offense, it's just a warning. Then, clearly explain the rules and standards to Davidisawesome, the consequences of further offenses, and finally, return both players to their respective scenarios.

If Davidisawesome repeats this offense, it's no longer excusable. I collect evidence and issue a ban with the clip. If he offends again, it's clear that either he is not respecting the rules or simply ignoring them. At that point, I follow the staff guide's punishment for the offense.

This approach to moderation keeps MI fair and ensures that individuals have chances to learn from their mistakes before punishment is issued.

Anything Else We Should Know?

I really hope you consider my application. I miss working with MI and would love to be apart of the team again. Thank you for reading my application.

Do You Speak Any Languages Other Than English?

No, I'm learning German and French, but I wouldn't say I'm good enough to count it.
