Why Do You Want to Become a Moderator?
Becoming a moderator has always been a personal goal. I have a lot of experience in moderation, it is one of my strong suits. I love helping the community, and making sure rules are followed by them, supporting community members throughout their experience within the community, and ensuring that everyone has a positive and safe environment to enjoy. My past experiences as a moderator have helped me develop a deep understanding of what it takes to be effective, and remaining calm under pressure in high stress situations like staff scenes. I do well in making fair and unbias decisions, and being consistent with rules and expectations of our community. Moderating isn’t just a role I want to take on in the community, it’s something I care deeply about and genuinely enjoy doing. I was previously a part of the staff team at Mountain Interactive and really enjoyed every moment I spent there. It was unfortunate that my time ended due to activity issues, which were because of personal matters I’ve fortunately resolved. Having taken time to address those challenges that I was facing, but now I feel fully ready and more motivated than ever to return and give my best efforts. Being part of the staff team was a great experience, I miss being a part of the great team, learning things every day, and just being a part of the team bettering the community day to day. How Would You Handle Rule breaking?
When handling rule breaking within the community, I believe in being fair and unbias. For first time offenders, I would take an less serious approach, and more educational, making sure that I am explaining the rules that they have broken, making sure that they understand what they did wrong. I would only issue a verbal or written warning depending on the severity. If the behavior continues, I would escalate to a written warning or a kick, due to them already being aware of what they have done. For repeat or serious violations, I would be stricter on the consequences such as a ban or a temporary ban, especially if the behavior threatens the communities reputation. Regardless of the situation, I would treat everyone equally, without bias, document all moderations, and ensure that discipline is applied without bias or favoritism.
