Why Do You Want to Become a Moderator?
Explain your motivation. This question should be a few paragraphs or more. You may include:
I'm looking for a community to restart my moderation experience, to be able to learn skills from higher ranks and fellow moderators on how to moderate communities, especially larger ones like MI that are more structured. I've recently started playing LA and Perris a lot, especially on my university break, after friends, including a moderator, invited me to play. I believe my experience, unlisted as I have been inactive in a moderation capacity for over 3-4 months at this point, can be extremely helpful in getting back into moderation, and can help me in becoming apart of MI's moderation team. I've so far had a clean record in MI, seeing as I am a pretty active member, just not really in discords and what not, but definitely in game recently, just difficult due to the AEST time zone. I want to aim to help MI by being an active member in both games, as I do like both and enjoy playing both, and being a helpful moderator to get assistance from for community members, especially with any questions or disputes they have with other players. I believe that I can be a great moderator here in MI, especially regarding my behavior, clean track record, and so far engagement with other members and moderators.
Are You Familiar with Any Current Staff Members?
Yes, westpacman (WestSpade).
When Are You Usually Available to Moderate?
AEST. Available weekends, weekday afternoons, and mornings.
How Would You Handle Rule breaking?
Explain how you would deal with first-time offenders, repeat offenders, and what punishments you would apply. Show you understand how to be fair, consistent, and firm.
For first offenders, I would give them some leeway, it's not always going to be a massive issue, and it would vary depending on what they did. I would first of all explain to them the issue, the specific rule, and what punishments are usually given for this kind of incident.
Given this, I would give them a verbal warning, and also direct them towards the website and the communications server to view the rules and contact support members for more information.
If it's a more severe incident, I would give a higher punishment, especially for a common sense rule common in all games.
For repeat offenders, I would definitely be harsher regarding my punishment, especially if it's in the same day/server they've already been spoken to in. Depending on the rules regarding punishments, I would view their record of warnings, and explain to them how the volume of warnings in my opinion should lead to a temporary ban, or full ban.
In this case I would warn them again, and temporarily ban them for 24-48 hours, or all together after consulting moderators.
