Why Do You Want to Become a Moderator?

I’m applying for a moderator role at Mountain Interactive to contribute to the community and support fair gameplay in LA and Perris. As an active roleplayer in Perris, I’ve noticed a lack of moderation at times, which can disrupt the experience. I want to help improve things for players who value fairness.

I’ve been with MI for over a year and understand how important moderation is to keep everything running smoothly. My goal is to reduce rule-breaking and prevent disruptions to roleplays.

With experience handling difficult situations in real life, I’m confident in resolving conflicts while staying professional. I believe a moderator should guide players and help maintain community standards, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for those who respect the rules.

How Would You Handle Rule breaking?

Treating rule-breaking is key for ensuring fair gameplay. When moderating rule-breakers, it depends on whether they have any previous offenses. If a new member of the community breaks regulations but hasn't read or understood all the rules, the best approach would be to educate them on how to avoid it, explaining what RDM is, for example. However, for repeat offenders who know they are breaking the rules, it would be fair to take action against them.

For instance:
A member who joined three days ago and committed Fail Roleplay gets reported by another player. You take the case and start moderating. After speaking with both parties and reviewing evidence, you find that the offender has no previous infractions and claims they didn’t know what FRP is. In this case, the best action would be to explain what FRP is and how to avoid repeating it.

However, if you encounter a repeated offender reported for VDM, running over random civilians, you begin bringing him to the Sit Room and start moderating. After speaking with both the reported party and the reporting pary, and gathering clear proof or personally visualizing the scene, you should explain that based on their moderation history, for example they will be issued a 3-day ban.

Anything Else We Should Know?
- I’ve been a Titanium subscriber for about six months, and before that, I was a Platinum member. I plan to continue in the future.
