Which Mountain Interactive Servers Do You Play Most?

I mainly play Perris, California and I am familiar with its rules.

Why Do You Want to Become a Moderator?

At first, when I joined Perris I thought it was simply another realistic roleplaying game. However, I was hooked by the realistic gunplay and the map. The more I played, the more I began to enjoy the game. I began appreciating its depth and realism, especially around the roleplaying situations created by the vibrant law enforcement community of the game. I was having fun daily due to the infinite amount of roleplay opportunities given to me by just exploring the map, so I introduced my friends to the game first. At first, we had fun doing group roleplays together. The more I invested in this game, the more I wanted to protect the game I had so much fun with. I also wanted to allow other players to share their experiences with me. As I played more with my friends, they noticed how much variance there was in the moderation. Some mods were fair, while others were too harsh. Most importantly, we noticed that rule breakers were extremely prevalent, with RDMers being in almost every server we played together in. These led to frustrating moments when we were doing a fun roleplay, then an RDMer would come along and kill everyone. I hope I can contribute to preventing these things from happening. In all moderation positions I have held in the past, I have advocated for people having a second chance, and realize that giving appropriate punishments to rulebreakers promotes the fairness of the moderation team, as well as giving them more opportunities to enjoy the game. My extensive past in moderation positions gives me the necessary experience to effectively handle rulebreakers and punishments. I am well aware that moderation is a team effort, and I excel at collaboration. Furthermore, joining the moderation team could allow me to meet new friends. Although my history with Mountain Interactive is not long, I always find myself being heavily invested in the community I find interesting. Mountain Interactive is one such game.

Are You Familiar with Any Current Staff Members?

No.

When Are You Usually Available to Moderate?

Timezone: EST
Availability: On weekends: 10AM - 12 AM, On weekdays: 4PM - 12 AM

How Would You Handle Rule breaking?

First and foremost, with my past experiences moderating in other games, evidence is always required if I am not the direct witness. This applies to both first-time and repeat offenders since previous biases should not affect punishment. If we reduce the deliverance of punishments on a "he said she said" basis, the game will quickly devolve into anarchy and mod abuse. The evidence should be clear and concise, showing the rule breaker. Once I obtain the evidence, the punishment would be appropriate. For first-time offenders, it could be a possibility that they are new to this genre of game and therefore misunderstand the rules. I would explain why what they did was wrong, and show that this game is not one where you can do whatever you want. If what they did was not that serious (such as a single RDM), I would explain the meaning of what they did, and give them a warning since first-time offenders should be given the benefit of the doubt and not be immediately permanently banned. For second-time offenders, I would keep their past punishments in mind. Still, I would try to be fair. If this is their second RDM, I would give them an appropriate punishment such as a 24 hour ban. If they keep repeating, I would increase the severity of the ban until a permanent ban is reached.

Anything Else We Should Know?
