Hello. I am writing to appeal my ban and provide some context. As an African American queer man engaged with a loving partner, I navigate in a world where people like me are subjected to judgment, stereotypes, and misunderstandings. The words in question, "n word" and "f word" are very intense, and as someone who belongs to both the African American and LGBTQ+ communities, we have reclaimed these words as part of our identity and humor. While these words, to you, may carry a heavy tone, they are, in my opinion, used in certain scenarios in which I feel comfortable. In this situation, my words were not used to offend or harm anyone but was reflective of a familiar and joking way.

Unfortunately, individuals like me are frequently looked down upon or judged based on assumptions; this experience feels like another example. Jumping to conclusions without contacting me or even looking for the context is incredibly damaging to me and the larger communities I represent. I feel as if this experience has reinforced the very biases and exclusion that marginalized groups like mine face every day.

I have been a long time subscriber and have maintained a clean record in this community, along with decorated tenure with the LAPD.

I want to clarify that I never intended to offend or create discomfort. I apologize if my words were misunderstood; I also ask for an opportunity to explain and be seen in my full humanity. My Instagram profile picture, which features my partner, reflects my pride in myself and what I stand for.

Thank you for taking the time to appeal your ban and share your perspective. We appreciate your openness and the context you’ve provided regarding your lived experiences and identity. Our community values diversity and the unique voices of its members, and we take all appeals seriously.

However, we must address the core issue that led to your ban. Our community guidelines prohibit the use of certain language—regardless of context, intent, or identity—to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all members. While we understand that some individuals and communities have reclaimed specific terms, their usage in this space is not allowed under any circumstances. This policy exists to prevent misunderstandings and ensure inclusivity for everyone.

Your long-standing membership and positive contributions to our community have not gone unnoticed, and we recognize the importance of providing second chances when appropriate. However, the guidelines were made clear upon joining, and we rely on all members to uphold them consistently.

We acknowledge your intention may not have been to harm or offend anyone, but the impact of such language can be significant, regardless of intent. Upholding our policies is essential to maintaining a welcoming and respectful community for all members.

At this time, the ban is now reduced to 7 Days. We encourage you to reflect on this decision and reach out in the future if you wish to engage with our community while respecting its guidelines. Should you decide to return, we’d be happy to welcome you back under these terms.

In the future for your appeals please take responsibility for your own actions. Using excuses as saying you are “queer” or “black” seems as if your trying to divert the responsibility.
