Project Ventura ★
Active
Project Manager: David Derin
Date: 2025 – Present
Mountain Interactive’s most successful and flagship roleplay project to date. Project Ventura integrates MI’s XP and subscription systems, delivering the most advanced RP environment on the Roblox platform.
Originally acquired from Johnson Studios for an undisclosed amount. MI restructured and rebuilt it to support our systems, community standards, and continuous content updates.
Los Angeles RP
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin
Date: 2024 – 2025
A large-scale Los Angeles-based roleplay map known for its realism and scope. It set new graphical benchmarks for MI’s work but ultimately became unstable over time.
Reason for Discontinuation: The map structure made updates difficult. Each new patch caused recurring issues, making long-term maintenance unfeasible.
Perris, California RP
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin, Ashkan Zahabiuon
Date: 2023 – 2025
A community-driven small-town RP map emphasizing realism and law enforcement simulation. Served as a foundation for several later MI systems.
Reason for Discontinuation: The younger side of Roblox’s player base created excessive drama and issues. Developers, including paid ones, left due to burnout and constant setbacks.
Fort Loredo
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin, Ashkan Zahabiuon, Nathaniel
Date: 2022 – 2023
A Texas-inspired RP environment emphasizing rural law enforcement and frontier aesthetics. It remains a significant part of MI’s development history.
Reason for Discontinuation: Toxic community culture, unreliable developers, and lack of internal motivation to continue the project.
Victor Valley
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin, Jacob Nagel
Date: 2022 – 2023
A high-desert roleplay project representing MI’s early experimentation in large-scale RP worlds.
Reason for Discontinuation: Early development team lacked experience and ability to address key technical issues. Work was shifted to Perris after its acquisition from Alpine Development Studios.
Kern County, California
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin, Jacob Nagel
Date: 2021
The precursor to Victor Valley, Kern County shared its world layout and game systems, acting as the technical base for MI’s desert series.
Reason for Discontinuation: Same foundation as Victor Valley — merged and rebranded to improve design quality.
Union Valley, California
Discontinued
Project Manager: David Derin, Jacob Nagel
Date: 2019 – 2020
