(Minimum 150 words) I would like to join the Mountain Interactive Staff Team because I have noticed significant inactivity in certain time zones among the staff. I am eager to contribute as a Volunteer Moderator to help maintain a safe and welcoming environment by addressing exploiters and rule breakers. Additionally, I aspire to enhance the Mountain Interactive community by hosting roleplays, if permitted, to foster engagement and enjoyment among members. I bring substantial experience as a moderator and community staff member in various other communities and roleplay settings. I am committed to being highly active both in-game and on Discord, ensuring that I can handle situations efficiently and effectively. Furthermore, I have the time and dedication to contribute meaningfully to the Mountain Interactive Staff Team. Above all, I genuinely enjoy helping people and am passionate about creating a positive experience for everyone in the community. What skills or qualities do you have that would make you a valuable member of the staff team? I believe I have several skills and qualities that would make me a valuable member of the Mountain Interactive Staff Team. I’ve gained a lot of experience as a moderator and community staff member in other groups, which has taught me how to handle situations fairly and efficiently. I’m very active both in-game and on Discord, so I can respond quickly to issues, especially during time zones where staff activity is lower. I’m also passionate about helping people and making the community a better place. Whether it’s addressing rule breakers, resolving conflicts, or hosting roleplays to bring members together, I’m always ready to step in and contribute. I’m reliable, committed, and genuinely enjoy being part of a team that works to create a safe and fun environment for everyone. Have you been involved in any other communities or teams? If so, please list them and describe your role: Yes, I’ve been part of several communities and teams where I’ve gained a lot of experience. For example, I was a staff member in the Liber Studios Developer Group, where I helped with management and supported the team. I also worked as an Administrator and Developer for Britsovs Community, where I played a big role in keeping things organized and running smoothly. Another key role I had was as an Admin for Anomic, where I focused on maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment by enforcing rules and resolving issues. Beyond these, I’ve taken on many other positions in different communities, which have all helped me develop skills in moderation, problem-solving, and working with a team. These experiences have prepared me to contribute effectively to the Mountain Interactive Staff Team. How would you handle a conflict between two community members? If there was a conflict between two community members, I’d start by seperating them to avoid any further tension. Then, I would speak to each person indiviually to understand what happened and get both sides of the story. Listening to both parties is important so I can get a full picture of the situation. Once I have all the details, I’d figure out who is at fault based on the community guidelines. If one of them broke the rules or caused a problem, I’d explain the situation and why their actions was not acceptable. I’d make sure they understand the consequences of their behavior. If necessary, I’d issue a warning or a temporary ban to make sure the issue won't continue. My goal is to handle the situation so it that prevents similar problems from happening in the future, ensuring the community remains enjoyable for everyone involved. Describe a time you had to solve a difficult problem in a leadership or team role: One time during a roleplay session, a player used their vehicle to run over another player, which is a clear case of VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch). The player who was hit was upset, and the situation started to cause some tension in the game. The player who caused the issue didn’t seem to understand that it was against the rules. I stepped in and made a admin sit. The person who caused the issue admitted to running the other player over, but didn’t realize it was against the rules. The player who got hit had a clip of the incident, which helped clarify what happened. After reviewing the clip, I explained to the player who used the vehicle improperly that their actions were a violation of the rules and that it could negatively affect the experience for others. Since it was a clear violation, I issued a warning and made sure they understood the consequences. I then reported the player who caused the issue, and they were banned for their actions. The situation was resolved, and the roleplay continued without further issues. How do you prioritize tasks when managing multiple responsibilities? I use most of my time on staff calls, but when it comes to Discord, I handle tasks whenever I don’t have any staff situations to deal with or when I’m on my phone and can manage them easily. I always make sure to check for tickets and ensure they’re being handled. If I notice any tickets that haven’t been addressed, I’ll take care of them myself. What do you think is the most important value for a Mountain Interactive Staff member to uphold, and why? Fairness and professionalism are key. You won’t get far if you are unprofessional or troll in-game as a staff member. Most people won’t like you and will likely report you. Fairness also means ensuring that everyone is treated the same way. How would you support and encourage new members of the community? I would give welcome messages to make new members feel noticed, offer help whenever needed or requested, and provide tips to help them get started. I’d make sure they know they can always reach out if they have questions or need assistance. What are your long-term goals, and how does being part of Mountain Interactive align with them? Get promoted and earn respect, while making sure people like me. I must also keep my reputation clear and treat everyone the same way. Are there any areas within the community you feel need improvement? If so, what ideas do you have to address them? N/A. AgreementBy submitting this application, I confirm that: All information provided is accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that any false information may result in immediate disqualification or removal from the staff team. Signature (type your name here): Veeti_Somi Date: 12/12/2024
