I was at the scene of an officer-involved shooting that took place in the Walmart parking lot when the offender, Infectedv12, drove into the lot and parked his vehicle. A deputy and I asked him to leave, as the parking lot was part of our investigation. He refused, so I asked him to provide his ID. He refused again, and two or three deputies and I attempted to detain him, but he decided to run away from us, prompting two officers to discharge their tasers. He then pulled out a weapon, so I discharged my service weapon. As I fired, he was already in cuffs, which was confusing because no officer was close enough to have cuffed him. I watched his clip, and it showed me shooting him after he was in cuffs. I believe there was a desync issue, because I had fired all my rounds at him while he still had his weapon out. I believe the situation I was involved in was caused by desync something outside of my control but with serious consequences. While I did not intentionally violate any rules, I now fully understand how this incident appeared from the other party’s perspective, and I recognize why it was taken seriously by staff. I understand where the person who reported me is coming from. After reviewing the footage, I see how it looked like I shot a cuffed individual, even though, on my screen, the suspect was still armed and uncuffed. This gap between what I saw and what actually occurred is frustrating, but it's also taught me a valuable lesson. What I’ve learned from this is that technical issues like desync can deeply impact the integrity of roleplay and how actions are interpreted. In the future, if I’m reinstated, I will be much more cautious in fast-paced or unclear situations. I’ll also take extra steps to communicate what I’m seeing and report any discrepancies immediately. I care about this community and am committed to uphold its rules, immersive. This incident doesn’t reflect who I am as a roleplayer or how seriously I take these standards.
