I understand the importance of maintaining roleplay integrity and want to clarify what happened from my perspective: I was initially set up for a vehicle pursuit, equipped with spike strips, and positioned next to a deputy’s vehicle. While staging, I was suddenly ambushed by a suspect who had been hiding nearby, which diverted my attention away from the ongoing pursuit. At the time, the FBI was actively calling out a pursuit over comms, and I observed an FBI unit that appeared to have pitted or glitched a vehicle. Due to the confusion and lack of a clear description of the suspect vehicle and I was on high alert, I mistakenly believed the gray pickup truck I saw was the one involved in the pursuit. From what I understood, the suspect in that vehicle had previously discharged a firearm at officers, so I proceeded with caution and saw someone exit the vehicle, whom I believed to be armed and dangerous. Based on the prior context of shots fired, I discharged my weapon also in the regards of the shots going off in that direction couldn't make a proper description of the shooter but I shot in that direction thinking it was that subject. After the scene was secured, I moved in to reassess. At that point, I realized the individual may have been a Marshal unit in civilian-style clothing. There was no clear identifier at the time, and it wasn’t until after the confrontation that I understood the confusion. I acknowledge the mistake but would like to emphasize that this was not an act of random deathmatching it was a misidentification during a chaotic, high-risk situation where pursuit and shots-fired information were being relayed rapidly. I acted based on the information available and the perceived threat, not with intent to break server rules or disrupt RP. I’m happy to work with staff or receive further guidance on how to better handle such situations in the future, and I appreciate your time in reviewing this and I do apologize so please if another chance to redeem myself would be allowed. Also would like to say a perm banned is a bit excessive I know I may not have the prettiest history but this scene objectively was a mistake and accident as maybe I should've taken more proper repercussions but I rlly didn't mean it, so in regards to actions I will be better.
