I am writing to formally report an instance of staff misconduct that occurred after an incident where I was originally issued a warning for an alleged FRP violation. That warning has since been overturned by an Appeals Moderator, who acknowledged that my actions did not indicate FRP. Context of the Scene: While roleplaying as a law enforcement officer during an active shooter call, I responded to the scene where another officer had just reported shots fired. Immediately upon my arrival, I observed a subject pull out a rifle and begin moving in the direction of the officer who had called out the shooting. Based on this behavior, and the context of the ongoing incident, I reasonably believed the subject might be the suspect or was otherwise involved. Shortly thereafter, the subject holstered their weapon and began to walk away. To prevent the individual from escaping or potentially re-arming, I deployed a beanbag shotgun to detain them non-lethally. After securing the individual, I received confirmation from other officers that this person was not the suspect, and I then immediately released him from detainment. Staff Misconduct: Following this, I was approached by the Moderator, who was yelling at me in an aggressive and argumentative tone over VC. He then filed the warning that I originally received for apparent FRP. I subsequently filed an appeal for the FRP warning, and, as I said earlier, it has since been overturned. After my warning was appealed, I sent a screenshot of the appeal result to the Moderator who had originally given the warning to me. What followed was a deeply inappropriate and offensive private message, in which the moderator stated: “**** out my DMs nigga” This message constitutes a severe violation of Mountain Interactive’s community and staff conduct rules. The language used includes profanity and racial slurs, and the tone reflects abuse of power, disrespect, and harassment. Rules Violated*:Rule I.1 – Respectful Content Only The use of profanity combined with a racial slur clearly violates this rule. Rule I.2 – No Discrimination Use of the N-word, regardless of context, would appear to me to be a direct breach of this rule. Rule I.3 – Be Respectful Yelling at a player who is trying to explain their actions in an aggressive and argumentative manner, and using vulgar language in DMs, is clearly aggressive behavior targeted towards me. Rule I.19 – Abuse of Position / Influence The aggressive tone and behavior, especially in a Moderator context, constitutes intimidation and retaliation. Rule I.23 – Staff Conduct Applies 24/7 This includes private messages like the Discord DM conversation we had following the overturning of my FRP warning. The message they sent violates this rule. Rule I.38 – Accountability for All Members The moderator’s actions, despite their position, are not exempt from consequence. Mountain Interactive Warning Point AppealAppealing Roblox Username: ThomasLascelles Appealing Discord ID: 82909661572894720 Warning Date: 06/26/2025 Game Where the Warning Occurred: Perris, California Warning Reason: (If multiple on that day, please list all of them) FRP Warning Appeal: I am writing to respectfully request an appeal for a warning I received for an apparent failure to roleplay incident. I believe there may have been a misunderstanding regarding my actions, and I would like to provide my perspective on the situation for review. While responding to a scene where an officer reported a shooting in progress, I observed a subject draw a rifle immediately after the callout. The subject appeared to be moving in the same direction as the officer, which led me to believe he may have been the suspect or an armed individual involved in the incident. Moments later, the subject holstered the rifle and began walking away. Given the active shooter context and the immediate threat the rifle posed, I deployed my beanbag shotgun to stop the subject and prevent any further escalation or rearming. After securing the individual, I received confirmation from other officers on the scene that the subject was not the shooter. I then released the individual without further action. Shortly afterward, a moderator approached me and started yelling at me, informing me that I had failed to roleplay properly. However, from my perspective, my actions were in line with what a trained law enforcement officer might reasonably do under the circumstances, especially given the active nature of the scene.
