I wish to join the Staff Team as I feel like I could benefit the community as well as be a valued member to the team, as I’ve had countless hours playing various games and experiences within Mountain Interactive. I’ve also had many learning experiences within the community and I feel like there are people within the community all together that can hear each other out and there is much more to learn about this community. I would dedicate my hours willingly to help this community continue to strive as a whole using my past experiences, this would also allow me to meet someone new every day whether that being someone in the team or from the community. What skills or qualities do you have that would make you a valuable member of the staff team? I have various skills including de-escalation, as well as being someone who can be contacted to talk and as well as be trusted, I’m able to solve problems whether that being big or small I can work my way around conflicts and obstacles without any bias opinions, and lastly being able to act under pressure from people instead of crumbling from the pressure that I’m receiving and making poor choices. Have you been involved in any other communities or teams? If so, please list them and describe your role: FutureRP (FiveM) - CoFounder : Overseeing Staff - Development & Advisor for Ownership East Coast RP (FiveM) - Moderator : Moderation & Advisor for Ownership Victoria County - Senior Moderator : Moderation, Training new Moderators, Staff IA, Overseeing Moderation Team & Advisor for HM ChicagoRP - Moderator : Moderation & Overseeing LEO Operations How would you handle a conflict between two community members? I would isolate the two community members and I would individually talk to each member taking my time and thoroughly hearing them out and getting their side of the story as well as de-escalating the situation, asking about what happened and why they are arguing. I would want the two members to be comfortable and calm when communicating with them about the situation and stay calm myself as I would not want to escalate the situation and re-ignite the fire. The resolution could be that the two can move on and mind their business or a mutual apology between the two depending on what is best fit for that situation, for example if it was a extremely heated situation then I would rather have them move along which would have a lower risk of the conflict resurfacing. Describe a time you had to solve a difficult problem in a leadership or team role: I had a time in Victoria when I was a Senior Moderator, where there would be about 80+ in-game ticket reports about people violating the rules and I would also have up to 5 IA cases regarding the staff team and in the particular day, I was bombarded with about 60 different game reports as well as about 6 staff reports that I had to handle alone. The staff reports were very complex and it required hours of me sifting through many different pieces of evidence and connecting them together so that there can be a established resolution between the two parties, consisting of the staff member and the community member making the report. On that specific day it took me hours to complete most of the game reports and delegating other Moderators to assist, as well as prioritizing the staff reports and making sure that my investigation is thorough without any mistakes made and then ultimately coming up with a final decision with some members yelling into the VC channels telling me to strike them or remove them from the team, however I stood my ground and refused to do anything before I made a very thorough investigation. How do you prioritize tasks when managing multiple responsibilities? My way of prioritizing tasks and things I need to complete would be based on the date and time as well as what is more important based on the circumstances. When it comes to moderation I sort the tasks and reports based on the severity of the situation and based on what the infraction would be and if it needs immediate intervention from staff. The most important reports to me would be the ones where someone’s safety is at risk and they are in danger due to another situation, and will always be the #1 priority which means that the less severe reports and game reports would be pushed back a little bit while the ones involving safety and security would need to be handled first, contacting the proper authorities if need be. What do you think is the most important value for a Mountain Interactive Staff member to uphold, and why? I think that Integrity is the most important value for any staff member to uphold and should be prioritized, because integrity is important within any position of power whether that being in real life or in a gaming community or a organization. Integrity is required for those who are honest, respectful and those who are willing to do a good job and those who are willing to do things that would be unbiased, as well as integrity fostering trust, honesty and accountability. This is also a important value to make sure that those within power are held accountable for their actions and making sure that they are not pinning anything onto someone else for their mistakes, being 100% honest. How would you support and encourage new members of the community? I would talk to the new members more and get to know them and tell them what the community is about, what my experience is like and trying to get them to communicate more if they are comfortable. Making sure they are not shy from asking questions as they can be answered by almost anyone within the community, this also includes me making sure that there is trust and a sense of security within the community. Lastly, I would make sure that they feel invited and not left out of the community, this can be roleplaying with them and communicating with them, starting discussions and asking them general questions like how they are and how their day was. What are your long-term goals, and how does being part of Mountain Interactive align with them? My long term goals would be getting to know new people every day, standing out and doing things that are more than myself and taking up opportunities when they are presented. It also includes making new friends and sharing experiences with them and sharing new ideas with everyone else such whether that being Staff or Community members. Are there any areas within the community you feel need improvement? If so, what ideas do you have to address them? I feel like there could be more staff visibility and more community engagement, this can be resolved by hosting more events and staff communicating more with community members and starting discussions and being more out in the community which could make new members more comfortable with staff. With the visibility there is some issues with the availability of staff members as there isn’t always a staff member that can be there during that specific time when they are needed due to time zones and all which can be fixed with a diversity in time zones in the staff team, so that not everyone within the team is in only that specific time zone.
